Some guy in Florida is giving out his resume with coffee and donuts.  It's got him some publicity so I hope that helps and anything you can do to make contacts is good.  But I think a more targeted approach might be better.
He's a graphic artist - so he should be giving out samples of what he does - and to people who might buy him - give him a job.  He could still do the donuts but maybe it's wrapped in this amazing napkin or in some fabulous sack with his work on it.
But I hope he gets a job - that kind of dedication deserves results.
