Free Resume Templates aren't free and don't work?
Free resume templates are great except most jobs - 80% - are got through contacts often without a resume. So why waste time working on writing the perfect resume when actually you want to work on finding the perfect contact. The format is important but what is more important is telling your story - a beginning, middle and end. What I inherited, what I did and what the results were. That's what employers are looking for. And if you have those stories then you impress someone when you network. So resume templates are free but what they don't include is your work to get the right stories and the right contacts to find the job. Want to know more or get a free resume review.
Career advice and free resume review

You will need to construct a résumé at some point in your life, whether applying for an internship or a full-time job. A
well-designed résumé will help you:
* Initiate contact with a potential employer.
* Communicate your relevant qualifications and strengths.
* Provide information to personal and professional contacts who will write letters of recommendation or make phone
calls on your behalf.
* Demonstrate your ability to write well, pay attention to detail, and present information in an organized and concise
manner.

Yes and no. No, I have worked with successful people who have never written a resume but have been successfully employed. And although that is unusual it can happen. Networking is key. Yes. However I do agree with your points about resumes. There is a need for a concise history of what you've done.
Thanks for the comment.
