Recruiters can't say "no"
About 90% of the recruiters I've applied to can't say no. What I mean is they don't tell you "no, you didn't get the job", "no, your resume was a joke so sorry" or "I thought you said you had experience not creative writing expertise". Well it may not be 90% it just felt like nobody took the time to say - SAY - sorry you didn't get the job - even after they spent an hour or so on the phone.
But a few weeks ago I interviewed with Nestle and the recruiter not only could say "no". He also took the time to explain why it was no - too qualified - and how they had wanted to put me forward for something more senior but there were now budget issues. I really appreciated the recruiter taking the time to get hold of me and tell me personally.
And when it comes down to it. I would work with him again. The no-phobic recruiters - not so much!

I too have spent hours discussing a job with several recruiters, went on interviews they coordinated for me, and not receive any valuable feedback. It's a very frustrating experience.

It's really frustrating. I think it's a mistake not to follow through. The recruiter never knows when you might be able to help them out.
