Mentors

Mentors have experience that directly relates to your job and can introduce you to contacts and give you vital information.
But how to get one?  And aren't most people worried about commitment?

One answer is a Limited Mentorship which I learned from Flash Forward and Leaders - Suzanne Lyons/Heidi Wall.

Request 3 x 15 minute calls.  It's easy for the mentor to say yes and great for the mentee.
I used this technique when I was writing for TV and met Third Rock Director, writer on The Nanny, and the Head of Comedy at Brillstein Grey.  Brilliant!

This is a great book.
