Online networking

I thought online networking was a waste of time.  I told my coaching clients that they should call people or go for lunch.  OK - I was wrong.
I signed up for LinkedIn (that's not the only one - I know) and found two old friends who I lost touch with when I deleted my electronic and hard copy version of my address book when I was cleaning out - note to self don't tidy up.  It's kind of cool - really.
You can also ask questions AND answer them.  If your answer is the best you build your status as an expert.  I'm an expert in job search (hold the applause please).

I'm am finding that the opportunities for networking online are limitless. I have been able to connect with professionals that I would never have had access to via the internet. I am a also a Linkedin member (which I highly recommend) and a member of Execunet. I have been able to search for professionals at specific companies, members of specific groups and in specific industries and then contact them for advice, information and contacts. Everyone benefits in some way from business networking and most are pleased to connect.
